So I'm having really bad/bizarre internet connection problems, it's really annoying cause I'm trying to read 20th Century Boys and I'm almost at the end.

Anyway, this episode sounds like it was rather "controversial" for lack of a better word. It looks like I won't get a chance to watch it for myself until at least monday, so I'll have to stick to other topics.

1) Is it true there is no episode next week?

2) Why is everyone assuming the Spike episode is a Dragon Quest reference? I'm not familiar with that series so I wouldn't' know.

If I die tomorrow/ I'll be alright/ because I believe/ that after we're gone/ the spirit carries on.

Well, it's a Foregone Conclusion that he's not leaving...

I'm not sure how I feel about the synopsis. I mean, on one hand I'm interested in learning more about the dragons, but on the other hand, I'd kinda prefer the writers to develop Spike's relationship with the rest of the cast more.

1. I believe that is the case.

2. The name of the episode is "Dragon Quest" so I can't see how it could not be a reference.

And yeah, this episode is probably a MMDW caliber Base Breaker.

I have really only seen controversy here. It has been pretty well accepted elsewhere.

Also the only connection to Dragon Quest is the name.

I don't think it will get that controversial. Again, I have only seen any real debate here.

Restating something that got lost in all the Pinkieposts.

There was a G1 episode where Spike goes to join a pack of dragons. But he gets put off because they are bullies and comes back to the ponies. I'm wondering if this episode is in homage to that?

I think by now, I (may have) cemented myself as the resident Spike anti-fan, and as such, I am obligated to say that I am not looking forward to Dragon Quest. Spike is really only interesting when he's with the mane six and this episode looks like it's going to be mostly just him. I had this same feeling of disinterest for Secret of My Excess and it ended up being my least favorite episode in the end. Hopefully, it doesn't end up that bad.
