I think it's interesting that so many people find Pinkie more annoying than usual in this episode. I liked her more than I usually do.

And the ending. D'awwwww.

I've found that it is very easy for people to ignore ponies actions when they are not the focus. Even if they are worse then what happens in their focus episode.

@Sky because the song describes the heart of Pinkie's character, which I love. Compare it to the insufferable way she acts normally. It serves as a constant reminder of what I WISH she was like.

@ginger Yeah, if Pinkie isn't the main character, she becomes more of a plot device than character.

What about "The Cutie Pox", where she spontaneously de-aged into a filly?

Yeah, given what the show is, it was rather inevitable. A show with the subtitle "Friendship is magic" is probably not going to have a message like that. And that said, I still wouldn't really call her Cranky's friend. They're on good terms, but I still can't imagine them ever hanging out or doing any other typical "friend" activities. They'll probably smile, wave, and say good morning when they pass each other on the street, but they aren't going to go bowling together any time soon.

Well you have to admit, she didn't actually TRY and befriend him at the end, all she was really concerned with was that he accepted her apology. Yes she was overjoyed when he said that, but it was completely unsolicited. I got the impression either way she would have been fine just seeing him smile.

Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool.

Pikie was super extrovert and cranky is probably even more introvert than fluttershy...

It was cute they got along but I see Ginger's point it's true that you can't be friends with everyone unfortunately :/.

@Syd I know, but it still bugs me that Pinkie was more excited about him accepting her friendship than at being able to make him smile.

I know you can justify it any number of ways, but IMO it kinda undermines Pinkie's life philosophy (the one she sung an entire song about)
