I'd actually rather not see any toys directly aimed at bronies (aside from a Derpy figure; that'd be cool). I'd rather they get the mane cast's figures right first... and again, I don't want to see the series start explicitly catering to us. It'd change the dynamic, and might do unexpected things to the series' quality.

It'd be interesting to see, but your right, we'd have no way of knowing how the show's quality would be affected. A few nods here and there would be cool though

One fanfic has him as a budding entomologist. Given how the ponies have to take care of pretty much every aspect of nature, I personally think this is a pretty good theory.

But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...

That's actually the main thing that I'm worried about. I like the fact that the commercials acknowledge the Periphery Demographic, but I really don't want the show itself to start catering to bronies too much. A lot of use like the show because it's a kids show that can be enjoyed by everyone, not a show for adults that just looks like a kids show. I mean, subtle nods here and there (i.e. moar Derpy) would be fine, but I don't want them changing up the formula of the show.

I just imagined him like 10 years down the road as an Absent-Minded Professor.

Yeah, I've always preferred that theory than his cutie mark being some universal joke about him being slow. I don't really like to think of him as being dumb - I suppose I'm always there to stick up for the ponies that the show uses as jokes, or something.

Although an Entomologist would be incorrect, as snails are molusks, and he would therefore be a malacologist.

^^Depends on what you mean by 'know about'. There are a few prominent fan artists, and Equestria Daily does a Drawfriend wrap-up every day or so, but I'm not quite sure what you mean.

^Do they even interact? And yes, I can see him liking bugs and all sorts of other things along those lines as well as what would usually fall under the purvey of a malacologist.

@Mullon: RS is right, you pretty much need to know Derpy, and be aware of a handful of other ponies.

Snails strikes me as the kind of pony who would get a crush on Twist, but only be able to express it by bugging her by bringing her a bunch of bugs or something. And then he'd be confused when she freaks out. So it would be adorable.

Snails/Twist? eeeeeh...feels like Pair the Spares to me. I'm willing to accept it when it's suitably adorable, but I haven't really seen that.

Don't worry, Mullon, we can enlighten you if a name comes up you don't recognize. This show doesn't require a lot of prep time; three or four hours a day should work, and after a week or so of that you can start actually watching!

None of the fan created stuff is required to talk about the show. Being involved and up to date with the fandom is like having an awesome expansion pack or DLC for a main game. It's not required, but it's there if you want it (Except in this case, it's not overpriced up the ass)

I just compared the Friendship is Magic and it's fandom to video games and DLC. WOW I'M A DORK
