It still wouldn't really compare to all the insane shit her parents have gone through. In fact, her going with her might actually be MORE of a slap in the face. Like fate is taunting her.

Actually, given the relationship Daring has with her family. Having a book set when she as a little filly would probably bereally depressing XD

Plus Fluttershy was trying to keep them from wandering off (even if she kind of sucked at it).

Ginger: That still doesn't change the fact that it's dangerous and a filly is wandering off. Derring could always keep Daring from actually going into places like that. And if Derring really is the smarter one, Daring would only find ways to circumvent the situation so many times before Derring would catch on to her antics.

You're not exactly getting the principle of what I'm getting at. Yeah, Derring would probably do all that, but it wouldn't stop Daring (even just her personality and ambitions) from being a constant reminder of the lfe Derring WANTS to have.

So I'm planning on doing a college paper with ponies. I need to sort out what exactly I'm going to do for it.

Ginger: Well, you offered that explanation as her motive for her feelings, so that's why I was analysing it. But if you're changing it to Daring's personality in general, then I guess that works. I suppose it would help play up how close minded she's being.

Derring is a better parent than her parents were, because despite her resentment, she never once just gave up and left them to someone else.

I thought that it was implied her parents disappeared on one of their adventures.

Exactly. but Derring never left to go on an adventure of her own while she was raising them.

So I'm wondering what point to make? How females or males are representated? How it stands as a work of Fantasy? How the characters function in the narrative of each episode?

You should mention that he has an obsessive fear of being considered a burden on people, so he tries to be useful in as many ways as possible

New McDonald's toys: slightly different from the old ones. Biggest change is that Celestia's replaced by Lily Blossom, probably because Lily's one of the two Wave 2 ponies in the main brushable toyline (Cheerilee being the other of the two).

God, there is a LOT of instances where you guys put Derring in the "girl who needs to be saved" slot.

She isn't even supposed to APPEAR this often
