Maybe the bones grow into those areas as the filly enters adulthood? Scoots' are just ordinary feathers for the time being

The new episode has not aired on TV yet, and some fans want to wait before seeing it then. Please use spoilers when talking about it.
Well just think about May the Best Pet Win, where Dash gets one feather trapped under a rock.
A feather.
And then she has to wear a bandage and ride on tank on the way back to the finish line. You have to admit. It makes sense.
Nothing better. Nothing worse.

So do I. I'm not looking at plot spoilers

Pegasi have bones in their wings... Birds' wings in real life also have a few bones, but they're hollow so they can be light enough to fly properly, like the rest of the bones in a bird's body. Not too far of a stretch.
It looked like a single feather to us but underneath it was probably some flesh and skin.

I am tempted to draw a series of pictures showing how bird wings work, but I am lazy, so here is a link to someone else's diagrams instead:
How bird wings work
.
Note that the actual flesh and blood part of an ordinary wing is very small compared to the overall size. Most of the flight muscles are located in the chest rather than the wings themselves, but safe to say, pegasi are different from this.
Since they have fucking bones sticking out where their feathers should be.
FYI, this is how bat wings are supposed to look like
◊.
And this is what the show thinks that pegasus wings look like.
◊
See how they stick out, not at the "wrist" portion of the wing, but right at the "elbow" junction, and are completely unattached to anything.

Doesn't
pulling out even one feather from a bird fuck up its ability to fly for ages?
Ah well, not like Scoots is gonna need it

Can't you just spoiler the whole post rater than a few words? It makes it so much easier to ignore XD

No, not really. A lot of birds will moult their wing feathers one or two at a time, and it affects the way they flap their wings (choppier motions or more flapping than usual), but usually it doesn't make them unable to fly.
Still, if you pull out a whole shitload of feathers, it can fuck a bird up for years.
Nothing better. Nothing worse.
Oh for the love of Luna's great aunt dark matter, at least try to be nice people, we have two more days then we can talk all we want, you're scaring away the spoiler avoiders, i.e. you're scaring Kegi away and I like having him around.

I just wanted to talk about wing science. :(
Nothing better. Nothing worse.
I'm also tempted to leave too. I'm actually trying to stand on principle here and not exploit human error

I was nice until it went from "keep everything under spoilers" to "you're not allowed to talk about it."
Please don't post anything that isn't completely spoilered out about the new episode. Or I'm out of here until it airs.

Regarding the feather thing: Yeah, there are some bones in there, but I'm pretty sure that Dash has more than 3 feathers per wing. Applebloom just pulled one of the feathers that wasn't attached to one or something.
