Well, Hasbro is dead set on marketing wedding related toys. Some news from a recent international toy fair, including this description of the Princess Cadence toy.

...She's the star of every wedding? Just how many times has she been married?

Oh and here's the bride herself... is it just me or does the artwork on her box◊ seem less...pink than the toy itself? (Not a first, I know)

Or is that statement implying that she's a one mare Spotlight-Stealing Squad when it comes to weddings? What a bitch!

She's the goddess of matrimony? Insert 'always a bridesmade, never a bride' joke here, but man how much would that suck for the bride? It's your big day, when all of a sudden oop! there's a goddess! I guess all the attention is on her now!

I don't know who Princess Cadence even is.

By the way, it's interesting how the legs of the ponies are drawn differently with time. In the beginning, they're clearly horse legs and move accordingly. And then you get to the Flim Flam Brothers and they're walking on their hind legs for three quarters of the song or more.

Also, Jteeth, I read ahead in your reviews to see what you thought of the Super Speedy Cider Squeezy. I felt the song did a good job of establishing that they were charmers, especially when even the initially skeptical Twilight starts doing the cider chant. I think you largely passed over that point.

Again, yeah, realization after the fact. I still think it went on a bit too long, though, even if it did do an effective job of introducing the brothers.

Well, it would be nice if she was mentioned in the show. And wasn't Blueblood descended from a cousin of theirs or something?

^ Shrug, I can forgive that much more easily than the fact that cider selling rights appears to mean you have to give up your farm and land.

The other toy descriptions say its her wedding and she's getting married to Shining Armor (who's also getting a toy)

...I wonder if Big Macintosh will be the best man. It'd be sad if Shining Armor beat Mac to be the first brushable male pony toy, at least Mac will still have blind bags, where every male pony is a Palette Swap of him...

Word Of God says that he is neither Luna nor Celestia's descendent, so logic dictates that he must the child of a third Pony Sister. (Cousins of the royal family don't get the "Prince" title)

Princess Cadence must be amazing if she can outshine the ham of Luna and the universal love of Celestia.

I assume Blueblood is descended from Platinum whose house were allowed to keep their titles.

Lauren Faust said that Blueblood is "the great great great great great great great great great great great (and probably even more greats) nephew on Celestia's and Luna's mother's side, about 52 times removed roughly speaking." Some fans didn't catch the humor in her words. I'm pretty sure she made up those numbers on the spot just to get the point across that he's not really related to the Princesses at all and is only a Prince due to Executive Meddling (he was suppose to be a Duke)

I want Blueblood at the wedding. I want him to be there and hang out with Luna and it will be the most glorious thing ever. I am not even kidding.

Luna's ham plus Blueblood's indignance at almost everything would be great. Plus they're two of my favourite characters so it'd be great if my head canon that they BF Fs is right.
