@Ginger: Dude, it's entirely up to interpretations. Just because most people don't think he's a cancer patient doesn't mean that you can't think he is. Nobody's deliberately attacking your interpretation, they just have their own interpretations that are just as valid as yours. If your headcanon is that he's a cancer patient, that's perfectly fine. The scene is pretty ambiguous.

Anyways, Occam's Razor in this case does sort of apply. Because it's the easiest assumption to make based on what we've seen. Bald + Hospital = chemo. Or Brain surgery. He was clearly pretty disoriented (she's stealing my slippers?), but aside from that he seemed fine and a bit spry, so...

Ginger: I don't think it's impossible that their world has it or other terrible diseases. Just that they wouldn't have them the same way we do, probably. Instead of your body deciding it hates your guts or some virus or whatever it's more like, I don't know, you lack internal harmony and an evil magical disease moves in. MLP doesn't seem to have the same physics or biology that we do.

In fact, Cutie Pox supports the conclusion that they do have diseases and stuff.

Do we ever get a shot of Daring Do when Dash isn't picturing the story? Like on the cover or something? Cause in all of Dash's imagination sections they both have the same eyes and mane (minus the colour). I'd like to know how much Dash is inserting herself into the book.
