@Jteeth: "Free of unthruthfullness; sincere". What she said was ultimately the truth and sincere, hence she was honest. The argument could also be made that she had no control over how they would take what she said, and could therefore have simply made a poor choice of words, or held back information which was none of their business, neither of which are deceitful. Yes, this is indeed rules lawyering on both her and my part, but it's still valid, I think.

@Ginger: Yes, well, sometimes it's important. What are you supposed to do in it's place? Break down and tell the absolute truth? Even when you don't know how they'll react, and the result could be... less than pleasant? Sometimes you can't just tell someone it isn't any of their business, because as far as they're concerned it is their business. Sometimes you either have to lie or be a rules lawyer. If you don't like lying, then it isn't a choice at all.
