Also, you could argue that it doesn't get really good until the later acts. I still enjoyed the early ones, but the trolls showing up is when I fell in love with it.

@CDRW: You'd have to dig into some grimdark fanfic for that. Can't really help you there, since I avoid almost all of that except Fallout.
CDRW, maybe you should take a look at the fanfic The Night Never Ended? It was reasonably well written but, I kind of stopped caring so much once things continued to spiral into frankly fairly absurd grimdarm territory.

Problem: I don't want to sit through
thousands of pages to get to him though, plus, I don't like the art, plus, I don't understand what the fuck is goin' on in even the first 5 minutes!
