I'm well aware it takes some dedication to get into it. But it's worth it. It's my favorite thing, ever.

The thing is, despite being horrible, horrible, horrible pepole, the characters are still likeable. That is actually what I look for most in my media.

It also helps that the "Heroes" get paid back in spades for their evil ways.

Yeah, it's....very very long. I really enjoy it and I have to take breaks fairly often.

I know, I loved that about it too. I'd absolutely hate Black Mage if not for the fact that the entire universe hates him. The combination of Complete Monster and Butt Monkey is absolutely hilarious.

Yeah, this is the reason I could never get through it all. I tried and got pretty far into it, but I just couldn't bring myself to enjoy or like the characters.

Also, you could argue that it doesn't get really good until the later acts. I still enjoyed the early ones, but the trolls showing up is when I fell in love with it.

@Ginger: That's a tough one. I can think of at least one character that you'd probably really like because he's an amazing Chess Master, but he gets introduced fairly late, and main villain before him is more of an Omnicidal Maniac than anything else.

Am I a horrible person because after EVERYTHING he suffered through, despite being the very definition of Omnicidal Maniac, I rooted for Black Mage when He became all powerful and killed the others?

I wouldn't mind a Black Mage-eqsue Pony character...just Lighter and Softer.

CDRW, maybe you should take a look at the fanfic The Night Never Ended? It was reasonably well written but, I kind of stopped caring so much once things continued to spiral into frankly fairly absurd grimdarm territory.

Problem: I don't want to sit through thousands of pages to get to him though, plus, I don't like the art, plus, I don't understand what the fuck is goin' on in even the first 5 minutes!
