I've gotta admit, the main reason I find Gilda interesting is because she is a Griffon, the only civilized non-pony race we've seen on an equal footing with them, and she was Rainbow's friend.

I'd like Gilda to return less for her sake than for RD's. I'd just like to see that friendship not end on such crappy terms.

You have a point. That sendoff hit a bad note with me. Friends are friends and to cut ties with them so easily strikes me as wrong.

I'd love to see a rogues-gallery type of ending for this season, actually, especially if it highlights that the antagonists aren't really evil, they're just... antagonizing.

@Crowfall: Yeah, I forgot about the zebra's momentarily. I don't really like Zecora though, her rhyming gets on my nerves. Most of the episodes featuring her have turned out good despite this though, except for Cutie Pox.

Actually, I'd kinda love to see an episode where Dash goes to visit Gilda....and brings the rest of the gang along. There's all sorts of potential for hilarity there.

I don't think Gilda's evil, she was just a jerk. The problem is that I didn't see much more to her personality; there wasn't much else there to endear her. At least Trixie and Blueblood had humor value.

What's ironic is that despite not having appeared since early in season 1, she's still one of the most frequently appearing characters in fanart and fanfics.

I guess it's probably a combination of her haminess and shipping potential.

Actually, that would be a good episode, I think. The issue would be highlighting gryphon culture while also having to deal with reconciling the girls Gilda antagonized in "Griffon", all in ~22 minutes...

I think this is partly due to showing up so early in the show and thus getting an early start on gathering fanon.

@Syd Still, it's at least different because Gilda didn't abandon her. She didn't sever all ties. There's still a chance for the relationship to be rebuilt. She never once said something like: "I don't need you anymore"

Red: Oh, really? Come to think of it, the art reminds me of Foster's, though that may just be coincidence. I should watch that series again.

Blue: Yeah, watching the seventh episode now. That bunny is a jerk.

Ginger: Well, her sendoff did imply that she would probably expect RD to admit she was wrong and possibly humiliate herself in an apology to get back in her good graces. I don't think Gilda would expect her to ever actually do that, thus she basically was cutting her ties with that line.
