Rarity has three episodes where she's a main character, so to speak. I'm not sure who the least focused on one is, maybe Applejack.

I'm not sure, given that my main contact with the fandom is here, TZ, EqD, and Ponychan. (Though maybe I'm biased by the fact that Rarity is, along with Rainbow, my favorite character)

Sorry, but I doubt the HS shenanigans will be brought here. Just me and my manic self.

Also, how do ponies make marshmallows? Or gelatin?

Odd. Rarity has the least amount of Ponibooru images. She has 209 pages, trailing Fluttershy at second to last by 71 pages.

There are vegetarian gelatin options like agar.

And Applejack has 1 clear focus episode, and 3 split (with Rarity, Dash, and the Buffalo depending).

No you are right. Applejack is the less developed pony by far.

I like Applejack. She reminds me of... well she reminds me of home. Its the accent, or imitation thereof.

More Applejack episodes then! Like one where they make some Apple Cider, but it's stronger than they intended, with the final bit being Twilight Sparkle writing a letter to Celestia about things not to do. Also she has a headache, so shut up Spike!

To me, Applejack is the least memorable of the mane six, to the point that, when naming them, I actually have to stop and think about who "the sixth pony" is.

Oddly, my sister does the same thing, despite having seen only one episode.
Loves horses and her boyfriend too

I think part of Applejack's problem is that most of her episodes were earlier in the season. She was actually my favorite pony at first, but ceded that to Twilight once she stopped doing anything.

I found this on TZ.

No wonder I felt like Rainbow wasn't getting enough attention.

I remember Applejack sooner just because the name comes from multiple previous MLP generations, and I watched Firefly's Adventure a few years ago, so I always remember when I thought "Lol, there's an apple pony named Applejack, guess she's all about the apples, that Apple-Jack!"

I might be biased when thinking that Applejack doesn't get enough to do.
Many of us believe that we have not yet begun to see the full extent of her applejackery!

Sure Aj has a lot of screen time. but she is definitively the pony we know the least about her personality

She is stubborn, ver protective of her loved ones, down to earth, not afraid to get dirty, hard working and... She ... Uh likes apples?

[up][up][up]Thank you. I was looking for that, but I gave up almost immediately.

I think this supports my theory that Applejack doesn't do enough later in the series. And what the heck is up with Rainbow Dash being absent from five episodes?

She's entirely absent from three: Look Before You Sleep, Feeling Pinkie Keen (although she is mentioned by name in it), and Stare Master. She appears in The Show Stoppers and Green Isn't Your Color, but has no lines in either of them

Dash gets little screen time. But curiosly we know a lot of her despite of that.

It's always cool when she is present.

Incidentally I was reading some comments on The Huffington Post and saw a couple that referred to MSNBC as 20% more something than Fox News and immediately thought of Rainbow

I find it amusing that she seems to be The Hub's choice as the show's "mascot" (she appears as the show's icon on their website, and represents the show in any image that depicts the logo like this.)

Yeah, I think it just goes to show that Rainbow Dash still leaves a strong impression despite her numerous absences.

I still remember watching "Boast Busters" and musing about how Pinkie Pie wasn't in the show for once... completely forgetting that Fluttershy wasn't in it either. I think I just had Pinkie Pie on my mind more from the weird way she appeared in the first episode, where she was the first pony to run into Twilight Sparkle, but didn't actually introduce herself until the very end, so for that whole time she was just "That pink pony who freaked out and ran away."

So for that episode, I think the writers just wanted a Rule of Three for the ponies who would challenge Trixie at the magic show, and it was harder to come up with a fitting routine for Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. But then before that, I don't remember Rarity having much of a role at all in "Applebuck Season" either... Which makes sense, as it was in the episode "Look Before You Sleep" that Rarity and Applejack worked together and became better friends.

Probably because she's the most colourful, and therefor eye-catching.

[up]Pinkie'd probably be more inclined to throw Trixie a party than anything, and Fluttershy is too meek to try to show a stranger up.

I always thought they picked her because she seemed more marketable in personality; her design weirdly never crossed my mind

Yeah, I don't think those two would have added much to the episode. Pinkie would have probably been dazzled by Trixie's performance, so I can't see her really adding to the antagonism, and Fluttershy is too meek to do anything about it.
