So how any of you guys have managed to get published your fics on equestria daily?
I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

Not me, unfortunately. I only have one fic out there with Pony content, and it's only two chapters in and it's a mega crossover anyway.
Oh yeah. I keep forgetting we have that thread now. Also that I'm supposed to be reading something that was posted on there. I should go do that now.
What else are we going to use this thread for, though?
But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...
Sock puppetting!. Kidding.

My best guess is, in the end, it's up to each of the families to decide what kind of naming convention they use.
Or if and how they change their name when they marry. I mean, I'd call it suspicious coincidence if they were
both Mr. Cake and Ms. Cake, before they became Mr. and Mrs. Cake.

it's a feminists night mare, not only do Fillies give up their name when they marry their Cutie mark changes to something compatible!
7 friends, a robot, and a spirit, will find a way to protect us...if it kills them.
If you're tired of discussing the new series, you could always visit the "Pre-FIM" thread again!
Twilight has also been referred to as Ms Sparkle in her flashback too. And Pinkie is referred to as Pinkamena Diane Pie as though the Pie part is a last name. But since this is all kind of one off, I'm kind of suspicious that the crew working on the show doesn't have a consistent convention in place yet.
Case 1: Cheerilee
Special talent: teaching
Cutie mark: three flowers with smiling (some would say "cheery") faces
She did explain what her cutie mark had to do with teaching, but it's still kind of a stretch, relatively speaking.
Case 2: Pinkamena Diane Pie (a.k.a. "Pinkie Pie")
Special talent: making people smile, usually with parties
Cutie mark: a trio of party balloons
"Pink" and "pie" seem to have little or no direct relation to parties.

^ That's kind of what I figured, myself.
