I haven't really thought of any background to go with my OC either. Probably mostly because I drew her on a whim when everything went to hell last night. >.>

It just kind... doesn't really fit with the way I think of Derpy. Then again, it tends to varry and I'm not really going to say that my interpretation is better or that anyone else's is terrible.

That said, the voice actress was somewhat talented. Or at least, more talented than I am. Which is to say, I use myself as a baseline for pretty much every fan voice actor/actress I find, even though I've never actually done anything like that and I'm pretty terrible at it anyway and oh dear I'm rambling.

The voice is a tad high pitched, but I think she nailed the personality.

Derpy as the new Fizzy?

I found an account where Derpy sings Britney Spears songs!

The personality fits well, but the voice is just a bit more "childish" than I imagined Derpy.

Agreed that the voice is a bit higher pitched than I imagined. She has a daughter after all, she should sound a bit more mature. And personally, I don't like to think of her as being quite that ditzy, but I'm probably in the minority there.

For the record, here's the closest thing she has to an official voice.

As for the Derpy voice, I...didn't really like it. I mean, the acting is really good, but I have the same complaints. The voice is oddly high pitched, and I really don't like ditzy Derpy. This one isn't so ditzy, but I don't like the constant muffin obsession either...it just makes her too much of a one trick pony, In my opinion.

I think it was just a thing...like, one of the first fics about her randomly dubbed her as a mailmare, and it stuck.

I'm personally disturbed that Derpy's expression leaves some to believe she's full on retarded. Not that there's anything wrong with retards, but I actually know a few people who are treated like idiots solely because they have a lazy eye...
As such, I like to think Derpy is intelligent (at least normally so), but maybe a bit scatter-brained...
