So do the Apples get to keep all those barrels of the Flim Flam's cider? Because the barrels towards the bottom probably taste alright.

Oh and once again Bon Bon gets a weird voice. I wonder if they're doing that on purpose now.

[up]It wouldn't surprise me.

@Chariot: We can agree to do it their way, so to speak. Otherwise you'll have to camp the queue the day before :V

@Crowfall: I think they'll end up on the compost heap. [lol]

What I like most about this ep is that it's actually a faint commentary on how the US views the animation industry. Hollywood is all about quantity OVER quality. What happens when they try to compete with indie films and they over-work themselves? They produce crap.

The Flim Flams needed access to Apples for their machine to work though.

From the sounds of things, they were honestly planning to leech apples off of other orchards.

Their attitude, plus the machine just wasn't practical

Darn it couldn't help but watch it, and now I'm behind schedule as per usual. But yeah this episode was similar to this.

Anyway back to my marathon.

I'm sure we could get Pinkie to let us share her tent. It's probably one she got Twi to charm for her so it's bigger on the inside than the outside.

I thought they would go The Lorax route and use up all the trees in Ponyville! Didn't go there, though.

loved the flim-flam bro's song. too bad they weren't EVIIIL at that point, or it would be a Villain Song.

Did Rainbow Dash never consider just asking Applejack to save her a cup of cider? Surely she'd be willing to set aside some for her friends.

Dash is Dash. She'd focus more on her pride.

@Ginger: From the looks of it, no one in Equestria has any real business savy.

[up][up]Never crossed her mind? Besides it was more about competition with Pinkie.

Okay, honest thoughts:

When the episode began, I was like "Oh my god, not another episode with a way-too-long musical number." Don't get me wrong, I don't hate musicals on principle, but the song just went on way too long for an embarrassingly simple setup.

And I didn't like the Flim Flam brothers from the minute I saw them.

But when the competition started, I was like "this is getting interesting." Especially when the other main characters joined the battle. In what is becoming a Pony tradition, I knew what cliche they were gonna use, but somehow stayed interested.

And then came... the best effing letter to Celestia EVER! Oh my God, that totally made my day! The whole episode was worth it, just for that.

All in all, a Solid A-minus. Top 20 material at the very least.

@Crowfall pre-ordering cider? Could work

The only bit I didn't like were the early Pinkie scenes (shock of shocks!!) Her buying all that cider, KNOWING that RD just wanted ONE mug was just greedy and dickish

Yeah, Song was a bit to long for essentially just looping the same verse over and over, competition was great, and the letter, FUCK YEAH AJ!!

[up][up] well she didn't buy ALL of them, just as much as she could carry. And she did give RD one at the end

That song had a catchy refrain. It was long-ish, but the Find a Pet song was probably about as long.
