True. For television quality, the characters probably wouldn't be on-model all the time. With the symbols they use now, it's a guarantee!

I doon't think I could decide if I would prefer this show handdrawn or Flash...ed.

With the sheer polish the flash animation used for this show has, I simply can't imagine this show hand drawn without it looking like a polished version of the old g1 cartoon.

Hmmm.. AJP, I'd argue it doesn't count as legitimate stuttering as it seems pretty calculated on his part. But whatever floats his boat, or his girlfriend's.

I don't know if the show has a large enough budget for hand drawn animation to look as good as the flash animation. Good animation takes time after all.

He doesn't actually sound like he's proud of being shy though. He's just stating the fact that he's shy to meet her. Which is perfectly understandable.

As far as Twilight's haughtiness goes, I think that in the few occasions where it crops up it's less due to her arrogance and more that she just assumes that because she's probably studied the matter that she knows what she's talking about. Like in "Baby Cakes" when she says that Pinkie can't handle the responsibility; she's not trying to put anypony down, she just takes as self-evident fact and just doesn't recognize that Pinkie disagrees.

As far as the animation goes; I like how it is now. It's very clean looking, but incredibly expressive at the same time. I think that the style matches the tone of the show really well.

The thing about Flash is that Flash can do a good job of replicating other forms of animation with enough effort put into it. It's just that most of what you see puts very little work into it. So, just saying that something is done in Flash doesn't really tell you anything about how it looks.

Now as for the art of this show in particular, it fits the setting like a glove IMO. It's smooth and simple, but the characters are animated and expressive, so there's really nothing bad about it aside from some background copy/paste (which every style of animation does in some way).

Sorry, I had to step out for a while (and almost get taken out of the equation by a speeding pickup truck.)

It's partially because of the copious use of copy/paste that there are so many recognizable background ponies. And though I'm not really a fan of any of them myself, I can definitely recognize that a huge part of the fandom is devoted to them, so it turned out to be a good thing.
