@ L mage, i'm going on the assumption that they don't always hold elections, if there's only one pony that seems to have the skills for a Mayor type job, they just let him/her try, since they can vote him/her out anytime, it doesn't really hurt anything. Now if there's two or more in town that seem qualified, then they'll hold some type of elction.

Ponies in general seem very laid back and relatively autonomous even without a central decision making apparatus. They may not NEED mayors as much as we think they do.

Eh, I just tend to assume that there is more going on behind the scenes that we don't get to see because. . .well, kids show.

Since reading Half of the Day is Night I just assumed that Celestia and Luna had their own Courts and bureaucratic systems.

I imagine that's what Celestia's trying to foster: She's trying to create a self sustaining peaceful anarchy so that everypony is equal and they won't need the Princesses some day

I love the thought that Derpy is an anarchist, because she fought the Mayor in "Lesson Zero" and destroyed town hall in "Last Roundup"

Ponies are just so natuarally good that they don't need most of what we use centralized authority for. Celestia only seems to directly take a hoof in matters that are to big for ponies to solve on there own, the Dragon in Dragonshy, Discord, most of the rest of the time it's not her giving orders or being in charge, it's just that ponies love and rever her so much they'll act on her mearest whim even if she was just musing to herself about how she could go for some specific type of food ATM.

Page 1. Rainbow looks monstrous. Just look at her, the upside down eyes, the bent out of shape legs. Also Rarity is not very good at organising her mannequins just look at those things.

Page 2. This art is actually pretty good. They actually look like the show here. This is surely the dawn of a new age.

Page 3. That panel in the top left. Not quite sure what it's doing there. So Rainbow flew for the clouds and reached a meadow? Weird.

Page 4. On this page Rarity is old for some reason. Look at that random streak of grey through her hair. Rainbow cleverly interprets "Dress as a Unicorn" as "Dress as a Rainbow". Also look at the outfit, in the top it doesn't reach her Cutie Mark, at the bottom it stretches to her rear hooves. And Fluttershy is staring into Celestia's eyes.

All in all this translation was not very good.

So I went to an ophthalmologist today, get a new pair of glasses. And it was unpleasent.

Eyedrops burned my eyes (and still are burning}, they're also sore from being dilated. And the doctor had me staring directly at the lights, which made things worse.

Everything has been blurry and painful to stare at.

Only good part was that I believe one of the employees was an intern. Cause boy, lemme tell you, dis girl was fiiiiiine.

Those comics are turrible.

I've had glasses for years, but I've never had my eyes dilated. I'm starting to think my opthamologist is a fraud.

Really, never been dilated? It's pretty standard procedure. At least they've always done it when I get my eyes checked out.
