Obviously it's a conational monarchy with supreme power resting with ordained Crown Royal, but is their also a British-esque Parliament, is it a medieval feudal system? Inquiring minds want to fanwank!

I like to think there's a sort of governing council which can block Celestia's commands but rarely does so ~~because they don't want to be sent to the MOOOOOOON~~ out of respect.

Also, I saw a photo of Karl Lagerfeld in a newspaper yesterday and my immediate thought was "oh yeah, that's the guy Hoity Toity was based off."

Americans are conditioned to fear and hate any system of government where one person is entrusted with all the power, or a great deal of it. It plays into our collective superiority and independence complexes.

I had always figured it as Celestia was the one in charge, but she may have had a council of advisers. Maybe she elects a few ministers to deal with certain things, and they all advise her but she makes the ultimate decisions, and they just keep things running.

Even so how does she deal with Regional issues? Equestria is a big place, and she may be a Goddess but she still can't be everywhere at once. It's clear that indvidual areas have mayors (Mayor Mane) BUT how are they elected and why? If Mayor-ing is MM's special talent was she always slated for the position and is it for life? Who ruled before her? Was she elected at all? (Thats actual a great platform to run on "I was quite literaly born to by a mayor!")
