Thanks for the references. I have a massive ponyarts folder to refer to, so that image goes in too.

I bet most of my tabletop hard drive's load is made of reference images I grabbed off the Internet.

I pretty much use Google Images and the episodes themselves as references. Even now, after as much pony spam as I've done (although there are a few stock poses I've done so much, I almost don't need a skeleton for them).

General Zoi's pony creator on DeviantArt is also a useful reference maker, I think.

Yeah from the side, but anybody can do a pose from the side, that's why side views are so common, front views are always difficult, especially for something like a pony that requires tones of foreshortening, something I'm not exactly adept at.
I analyze "Geek Culture" here.

Ah, Foreshortening, a common nemesis. I actually remember hunting across numerous how-to-draw sites and getting a couple of books to help figure it out.

That depends if the Canterlot libraries have linguistic guides for other tongues.

Only if she accidentally the library, Mage.

I think she might be; if not by birth, then definitely by sheer effort.

Would Equestria even have multiple languages? Have we seen evidence of ones besides....whatever it is that the ponies are speaking in?

There's the pseudo-Swahili that Zecora sometimes speaks.

I don't think there's an official name, but I've commonly seen it referred to as "Equestrian."

Equestria itself probably has one official standard language, but the neighboring countries obviously have different languages.

@L mage: In Cutie Pox, Applebloom demonstrates for us when she gets the talent for it from the titular disease.
