Does anypony here also think that pilot episodes are great even when compared to rest of season 1?

It certainly did have potential for a Magical Girl plot, but I find its formula too different to compare to the rest of the episodes.

I really want an evil overlord in the next seaon, though.

Actually (at least for me) those episodes have all stuff what makes MLPFIM great, and Magic Girls elements don't make this more diffternt.

Pilots showing Mane Cast with personalities what we all love, have many gags , great animation and art, cool song, background ponies (Derpy!), also action element are present later in season and are liked to.

BTW Those are only episodes writen by Lauren.

Now I'm curious. Do each of the Elements of Harmony (as in the actual element, not the embodiment) have some magical voodoo they can do on their own? Or are they pretty much inert until you combine all six to form the orbital friendship cannon?

But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...

It'd be pretty cool if the elements had the ability to influence other ponies' actions, like Applejack being able to force the truth come out or Twilight using her element as a magic amplifier.
