It's more mean-spirited than fetishistic. That's another thing I dislike, I guess. The fandom has a huge predilection for memes that are just downright cruel and insulting at times. Major fanon of Lyra? She's human obsessed! Biggest joke around Scootaloo? She's a chicken! Shitty Bell! Abusive Rarity! Stuff like that. The fandom clings to a single quality and runs with it like mad idiots rather than actually, you know, developing these characters they claim to love so much.

Those amuse me. Especially people who were confused by the first two episodes of the second season, convinced the rest of the season would not be slice of life anymore.

The official Derpy scene raised an alarm in my mind. I don't think we need to get fanserviced. Even Derpy showing up in the foreground with explicit focus on her (like in Nightmare Night) made me a little uneasy.

Even Trollestia at least has some basis in canon, though yes it's often overblown.

I'm actually pretty okay with the different celestia's, honestly, because at least there isn't one that's been repeated ad nauseum. There are lots of different interpretations, and at the very least they're all recognized to be purely fanon. You just know that if a popular background character got focus and wasn't the idiotic caricature of a character the fandom wanted there'd be hell.

I don't respond of any of my acts anymore if I find the guys who made Trollestia, Molestia (even if JJ's version is not too bad, actually), Futashy and Scootabuse. And Cupcakes/Sweet Apples Massacre.

These guys will learn about a whole new world of pain. NEVER make a crazy space lunatic angry.

...Outside of them, I'm mostly for Love & Tolerance of the fandom's quirks. Nope, love and murder ain't mutually exclusive.

Eh, okay, I think Fallen's right. We're just turning this into a bitch fest. In spite of what issues we all have with the fandom, there's still plenty I'm sure we'll all agree is pretty fantastic.

any spotlight derpy stole is the fandom's own fault. i liked the episode becuase AJ was cool in it, derpy was just an awesome bonus.
