I'd say it's a good attempt, but there is plenty of room for refinement.

Granted, I have been drawing ever since I could pick up a pencil and scrawl.

Here are some basic anatomy issues you can correct:

Ear is too low
Neck is too narrow (a common mistake when it comes to making animé-esque characters)
She only has one arm :P
The wing is not drawn properly. Dragon wings◊ Bird wings◊
Hand is too small
The dress seems artificially extended. Did you draw a body underneath the dress? That is always advised, so people don't look all wonky and misshapen. You can do this with pencil or pen

Yeah, drawing their body (or a framework of their body) before drawing the clothes over really helps.

I wonder if we'll see any ponies sketching apart from the horse-drawn horse-drawn carriages back in Season One.

I feel like re-drawing this with pencil, since doing it in ink made it hard to define outlines.

That was one of my first drawings after a few months of doodling draught, mind.

You wanna go WAY lighter. If it's the pen, get one that can have lighter lines. So you can have textury stuff

I know, I got some fineliners in storage that I hope haven't dried out yet. I just wrestled that picture onto paper with a generic ballpoint.

Surprisingly, ordinary ballpoints are fun for limbering up the old drawing muscle memory. I learnt early that tracing is not a very good idea, so I always forced myself to replicate drawing styles manually, and that helped me refine my ability.

I should start drawing the Mane Six as well.

In NS, I came up with a technique similar to what some manga artists use, by photocopying my pencilwork and inking the copies.
