I don't wanna read it since long ass fics aren't my thing
Why not just read the first chapter or so, and make a judgment based on that?

Ok yes a lot of the flashback stuff to the time of the war is rather cynical and 1984-ish, but the main story is very very much about hope for a better future and recovering from what the cynicism of that time cuased.

Becuase it takes a while for what the story's really about to sink in.

1. only toook me about a wek to read a little over half of it.
2. The first half I listened to, there's a really good dramatic readin of it on you-tube, he's up to chapter 20

@ginger Well Lil Pip count as that type of character, and also Red Eye will have much of focus later.
It is grimdark but it have Earn Your Happy Ending.
Yes DT commits suicide, but many much nicer characters have worse fate.
Grimdark may be hard to swallow for non Fallout fans, but I think it is balanced by good story and great characters.
And it's not that long (ajpokerface.jpeg)

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.
no Ginger I am not saying Darkness is good. I'm saying this story uses it's darkness in the right way, not for the sake of darkness, but to makes lightness all the stronger by contrast.

I am not a fan of grimark in pony
that is ONE event, that happens in the backstory. and it wasn't a "i 'm so sad I dont want to live" type of suicide, it was a
Mercy Kill type.

...now i reAlly don't want to read this
Yeah, Ginger, seriously. And there's nothing glorifying darkness in it.
Pinkie and Rarity aren't evil, Twilight eventually breaks out, and Fluttershy is eventually cured.

Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
Bleedman's humanized Twilight looks sassy. In a good way.
32. Enjoy the little things
I'm not bugging people to read it. No one's bugging Ginger. He's the one raising a big stink over it.
Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
major MAJOR spoiler
Fluttershy get better
Rarity and Pinkie never went EVIL, Rarity never even close, and Pinkie was pushing close to
Well-Intentioned Extremist but we learn that she finally realized this and was trying to fix what she screwed up, only for the bombs to go off before she could.

We're not bugging you to read it, Ginger. It's your decision. If you don't want to read it, that's fine.
Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
really the best way to sum it up is with a quote from
Lord of the Rings
Sam: It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo... the ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger, they were, and sometimes you didn't want to know they end because how could the end be happy? (...) Those were the stories that stayed with you... that meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. (...) Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn't. They kept going... because they were holding on to something!
Frodo: What are we holding onto, Sam?
Sam: That there's some good in this world, Mr. Frodo..., and it's worth fighting for.
