It's not silly talk Applelight, Arteests are a very sensitive bunch and The Minnesota Fats are always in full force and part of the art experience for the artist is the approval of others which can go in oh so many ways.

Giggle at the Ghostly and the song that shall not be named are really good, asctually probably in my top 10 of songs in the series, but Pinkie's Cupcake song is so underrated. Should have been longer if you ask me.

All you have to do is take a cup of flower, add it to the mix. Then you take something sweet not sour, a bit of salt, just a pinch. Baking these treats is such a cinch, a teaspooon of ~~BALONGA~~ vanilla. Adda little more, and you count to four and you never get your filla!

Everyone does it, Applelight. Well, almost every artist I've known. Most of us go through stages of wanting to just get a normal job and fuck this whole "art" thing.

Be it writing, music, or drawing, or something else.

Hath thou been in an art class for the serious artist folk? It's not pretty. Nobody responds to a compliment with a "thank you" they respond with a backhanded insult at themselves about why it isn't so great.

I pretty much can't imagine getting a regular career, it would be completely stifling to me. Which means if I don't make it as a writer I'm gonna be stuck making pizzas forever. Definitely some good motivation to succeed!

I can't either. Doesn't mean there have been times where I thought it'd be better off to just get a desk job and at least have a stable life than pass off what I think is actually good.

Applelight, AHR's right. It's not silly talk at all, I'm a writer, or at least I fancy myself a bit of one. Unfortunately, I often find myself despairing that I might wear some of my influences so clearly visible on my sleeve that I might just be going through the motion in formulating my stories. This in turn often puts me through bouts like the one I'm currently in where I simply stop writing. Thankfully, I've more or less abandoned any aspirations of ever being a professional author.
