I don't think it's healthy all the time - I've had a few cycles of media-reinforced depression myself - but I usually avoid reading stuff that's unhealthy for me out of pure instinct.
I like thought inducing sadness, like the ending of
Watchmen. Not a fan of sadness for no real reason.
The internet is the realm of chaos, but not all chaos is evil.
...Seems like I drop right at the good time. Just read the whole Fanon-
Tear Jerker page for
MLP Fi M. It's heartwrenching. Especially everything involving Derpy. For some reason, the fact that fanon made her
The Woobie with a loving family make it worse. Anything between Celestia and Luna, too.
Whatever choice you make, if it was for someone else's sake, it was totally SOPA censored worth it.
I followed with the whole Heartwarming page, and then the Funny one. It helped me. A lot.

I don't drink much. Just had to rehydrate myself after Funny and -Hop ! Good as new.

I am so jealous of you guys. It's really hard for me to cry.
Tealove is best pony.
Pony Fanon Index
I don't cry at sad things, but I do feel sad. However It takes very little to make my happy again. Hell, I can more or less be happy at will now. ^_^
The internet is the realm of chaos, but not all chaos is evil.
I don't cry very much, but I like being made to feel emotions. If a work of fiction isn't wrapping up your emotions and moving you, then I don't consider it a good piece of fiction, really.
Can you think inside the chimney?
I almost never actually cry, but I'll tear up at a lot of stuff.
I very nearly cried in
Fallout Equestria at
Steel Hooves' funeral. Other than that closest I can get to crying unless I'm extremely frustrated or angry is a sympathetic "Awwww..."
Tick Tock, goes the clock/ He cradled and he rocked her/ Tick Tock, goes the clock/Till River kills the Doctor.
^Well, I'm not saying they need to cruelly play with your emotions. =) But you should sympathize with the characters, is my point. You should feel, to some extent, what they feel, whether that's happiness or sadness.
Can you think inside the chimney?
In all honesty, it took me a good half of the
Tear Jerker page to feel my eyes filling with tears. I didn't cry at all, in fact.

Sometimes it helps. Well, that's what I think. Again, being alone in space doesn't help.

Don't feel bad about being sensitive, Ginger. =)
Can you think inside the chimney?
@ Dhana, you're never alone in space while Luna's...oh wait. She's back down here now.
Ginger, controlling emotions is not an easy thing, It take Buddhist monks years of training to master peacefulness. Don't worry about it. There are up sides to heightened emotions, like you would be very unlikely to hurt someone.
