I won't want to experiment, but it's an interesting thought.
That makes me wonder how the cakes manage their superkids.
I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

@Ginger: You're starting to sound like Sessalisk. S/He suggested that ponies deal with threats by throwing baby unicorns into, basically, cage matches with the giant monster/what-have-you and letting their magic do its stuff.
Reposted from last page: @JTeeth:Yeah, you make a good point with that. It would have been a stronger episode without the superpowered children, but I still enjoyed it quite a lot and it gave Pinkie some good characterization regardless.
...Actually, I wonder if the superpowers could plausibly be related to Pinkie's earlier hallucinations (with the squeaky toy)? (Also, what did you mean by Homestuck making squeaky things scary? I've never read it.)
Can you think inside the chimney?
Rarity was the one who mentioned the magical surges, right? It kinda sounds like she's had first hand experience. You think Sweetie went nuts with her magic when she was a baby? Klutzy Sweetie Belle AS a superpowered baby 0_0

So wait, Granny Smith was an Apple clan member who married into the Smith family, right?

Oh, okay. Cool.

Or last names aren't so strict in Equestria. They just need an apple based name, it doesn't need to actually end in apple.
^That... doesn't sound scary at all. I guess I've just been conditioned to view all things Homestuck with suspicion and mild disdain.

32. Enjoy the little things
As for the super-powered babies discussion last page:
It reminds me of
JackJack. I think the justification for it was that the superpowers are personality based, and as a baby, Jack-Jack represents unlimited potential. Maybe it works similarly in MLP?
Or alternatively, it's sort of like
Mage: The Awakening (not that I've ever played it). Babies are so powerful because they don't know how reality is
supposed to work.
