An RTS spanning from Pre Hearth's Warming Eve all the way to Nightmare Moon's Banishment.
You could have a Pegasus faction, a mix of Glass Cannons and Fragile Speedsters, an Earth Pony Faction, High HP and a bonus to resource gathering and a Unicorn Faction, low all around stats but they make up for it with interesting abilities.

I think a Party Game would totally fit the show, with games coming from the Iron Pony competition, Trixie or Discord-themed, and the appleloosa battle xD

The pegasi or EP partner of the unicorn would need to have at least two "u" allealles in them in order to produce a unicorn.
It's impossible for a unicorn/pegasi pairing to produce an EP though

I could easily see MLP as an Action RPG/Platformer in the same style as Trine. Each pony would have unique abilities to complete various puzzles in different ways. But yeah, Hasbro's not going to go for anything outside of a cash-in party game most likely.
Another game idea that would actually fit the show quite nicely: Animal Crossing, but set in Ponyville. It's almost too perfect.
