I've heard the EqD pre-readers reject a lot of bad Sonic and Warhammer 40k crossovers.

I once read a Twilight (Yes THAT Twilight) x MLP crossover

It actually wasn't that bad

I've heard the first one, but not the second one. Though considering the number of meh 40k crossovers I've seen on Eq D already I'm not surprised.

Bad crossovers? I suppose it would be "bad" in my subjective opinion if it got crossed over with something I'm not too fond of, but I personally think that pretty much anything could be done well, in theory.

By the way, I was thinking about Baby Cakes and about the issue that Pinkie wasn't outright scolded by someone. Actually, she was scolded, by the nurse at the beginning (and physically removed from the nursery as well). And the babies didn't scold her in words, but they certainly expressed their displeasure concerning her attempts to entertain them in the only way they knew how, which was to scream and cry.

Maybe with the way things are going (with this story and with the way she's been handled in this season in general, like in Cutie Pox), she'll get outright scolded by one of the Mane Cast or the Cakes if she gets another episode.

I also noticed that Pinkie has a hard time taking a happy medium between hyper and silly versus being stern and angry, and this is in general, but Baby Cakes really showed that (with the way she never tried to be merely calmer with the babies, she swung from being goofy and hyper to demanding that nap time is right NOW).

Well considering that I'm one of those people who DOESN'T vomit at the very mention of Twilight (the films piss me off to be sure, but they also make me laugh, and I do like some of the characters) I can sorta imagine an MLP/Twilight crossover. It would depend on the characters being used

Mio: Yea. From what I've been told, it's pretty difficult to keep the feel of both series due to the very opposite nature of the settings. So it would probably take a really, really skilled writer to create a good one.

Shouldn't they reject bad fics in general? Regardless of the fic's subject matter?

I'm right there with you gingy, I thought the books where pretty good (not in my top ten but still not a waste of time to read) and the movies where meh (largely due to Kristian Stewarts lack of any facial expresions besides meh and meh-er).

I can't seem to find a link to the story but it ended in a aseop about how Bella and Edward needed to have a more even relationship, and how Eddy couldn't control her every descion and Bella and him needed to have more open and honesty communitcation.

It certainly doesn't help that alot of crossovers that I have seen with it don't really bother to actually blend the two settings together outside some terminology.

Well of course, it's just some ideas are more prone to being handled poorly then others.

Ginger: Yea, of course, but the point is that they get a large quantity of bad 40k crossovers relative to all the other bad fics they have to reject. Which leads to the conclusion that 40k is probably a lot harder to do successfully. Which would make it a poor crossover choice unless you really know what you're doing.

Mage: The books have been summed up for me before as having a really interesting supporting cast, but then the author chose to have boring, poorly written Mary and Gary Sues as the main characters. How much truth is in this statement?

At least Scootalove is very commonplace. Like this one, which presumably happens after My Little Dashie and this new and wiser Dashie does the same for an accidentally de-aged Scoots.

I wonder about those Injured Wing fics - any of them have Rainbow doing something like from up coming episode?

Wait... I thought Dashie had her memories erased at the end of My Little Dashie? Why would she be wiser?

@Ginger: I don't think so, I think she had her original memories wedged in alongside her new ones. So now she remembers being both Dashies or something. It's a little ambiguous, but I doubt Twi's Restore spell would destroy naturally-created preexisting memories.

Actually, I think it was left ambiguous. The last we see of her is when she's engulfed in Twi's memory spell, then they're gone forever... we don't see what came after that.

Wouldn't having two lifetimes worth of memories in your head wreak havoc with your sense of identity though?

I understand where a lot of the flack for "Twilight" comes from, and where the Gary/Mary Sue accusations come from, and that opinion of justfied and correct but I myself don't much buy into it.
