Ginger. . .listen to me. I know that you really enjoy this show. And I know that you want it to be perfect, to be everything you want it to be. But you have to realize that it is not going work that way, and you can't get worked up everytime something doesn't go your way. And you most certainly can't take it personally when people disagree with you.

Either that or it's like that one episode of Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi where that guy made a robot to help them out after they lost their instruments and it ended up hijacking their show. Maybe the Flim Flam brothers "sell" them the cider thing, then they end up asking for the farm in payment?

The guys that are trying to win the contest from the Apple family. Based on the title of the episode, it seems they've invented some sort of cider making machine. Or based off of their name, they're cheating.

@Crow I think making a cider making machine has to count as SOME kind of cheating.

Like, maybe they use very vague terms, and lead the apples to believe that they'll be competing against the brothers themselves. On the day of the competition, they wheel out the machine, and pull an "Exact Words" on them

They outright said that they agreed her song was bad, yes, but that had nothing to do with what followed it.
Nobody was listening when they knew she knew about the parasprites. It makes perfect sense for her to solve the problem herself since they kept ignoring her.
The children saying they liked being scared shows that they knew she was joking. Plus the end of Return of Harmony makes it clear that everyone knew that Luna wasn't nightmare moon. And it's not insensitive because nobody was doing it to hurt her feelings.

That could explain why they would agree to the contest if they aren't being coerced. Presumably the Flim Flam brothers don't look like the best cider makers.

Wait, so there's gonna be two Applejack episodes in a row? That's good I guess she hasn't had much exposure since... Idk, like the start of the first season.

That brings up something I've thought about before though: this show has a weird tendency to double up episodes with similar premises. In season two we have:

2 CMC episodes in a row.
2 Rainbow Dash episodes in a row.
2 episodes involving a main character's birthday in a row.
2 episodes with a flash back showing ancient history in a row.
2 episodes based around Applejack in a row (coming up).

And back in season 1 we had those two CMC episodes back to back.

I dunno, it's not really bad, it's just kinda weird.

Eh... fuck it, this isn't going anywhere and it's just making Ginger feel worse. But for what it's worth, intent and action are two separate things. If someone did something that hurts your feelings, but they didn't mean to, it's still insensitive.

My guess on the Flim Flam borthers is it's a Paul Bunyan sort of thing - they've invented an automatic distillery or something, and they think it makes better cider than the Apple Family's natural process.

Finally, we needed another Applejack episode since she's only had one.

No it's not. It's only insensitive if they intended to be that way/continued to hurt the person's feelings after seeing that they were doing so.
