Because full-grown unicorns are heavier than month-old babies?
I have a message from another time...
Wow, this episode. I'm amused that Pinkie expressed an emotion other than hyperactive. Seeing her stressed out was an amusing character change. This makes Pinkie a more realistic character.
Also, pony genetics. This will bring up a lot of future discussions. So, earth ponies, pegasi, and unicorns can mate with each other and the genes will pass through the lineage as a recessive gene. Unless Mrs. Cake cheated on a unicorn and a pegasis.
Don't make me fire Pinky's party cannon.
I can only assume that Twilight never went through those surges as a baby, otherwise she would have leveled half of Canterlot.
I wonder what would happen if Pound Cake got on a cloud somehow.
All right, don't bring up something if you're not willing to elaborate/discuss.
@ L Mage: And lifted it all the way to it's home. She had three layers of light from her horn. I don't think she's ever done anything as intensive as that.

The plants and earth might go haywire as well....I know we have a trope for that...it has the word "tantrum" in it think...
Or they could cause plants to grow uncontrolably and violently
