Going back to "topic", how would the German soldiers abroad react if Imperial Germany was magically replaced with Equestria in 1915? Would they try to retake Germany, or would they negotiate a surrender with the Allies?

Also, let's say that every horse that crosses into the former German border becomes sentient and able to talk.

Ginger: Writer's Block is a cesspit because it's full of people with ideas that barely ever write, are constantly judging and being condescending to each other, with mostly focus on people talking about their own works, instead of giving feedback or discussing anything, and has egotistical people that think they're going to be the next big thing at age 16.

Naturally, since I am just as deluded as them, I fit right in.

I think the German soldiery at large would continue to fight. Although, the fact the nation they are fighting for vanished to be replaced by a nation of horses might break morale. I still imagine the majority of them continuing to fight though.

I can't say, I'm not really much of a history buff, but I suppose they would be completely stunned, and either charge forward in attempt to destroy what looks like a new weapon or instantly retreat in confusion and begin sending spies. Eventually someone might try to skybomb the place in case they are a secret weapon of the enemy.

@ Santos L.: That's the big question. I suppose they'd break into smaller raiding parties, taking resources where they can and recruiting from whatever comrades/dissidents they find. I can't imagine them forming a proper military again, at least for several decades. But perhaps they continue to exist as terrorist elements. And I meant fight the Entente.

The thing is, raiding parties were often mounted, and in this timeline, horses immediately become Ponies if they enter Equestria...

Also, no more Germany means no more German factories meaning no more supplies. Okay, maybe the Austrians would send stuff in to the Germans, but that would be limited. I can't see the Germans holding out for more than a month.

The technology for carpetbombing an entire country won't be developed for another 3 decades: the most advanced airplanes are biplanes and zeppelins are still king of the skies.

That would probably be what would happen in my timeline: the Germans launch an invasion of Equestria, which only goes so far before they realise that they have no supplies, and surrender.

I also have the idea that Lettow-Vorbeck would start carving out a German empire-in-exile in East Africa, leading to a Peshawar Lancers-esque combination of German and Swahili culture being prominent their by their version of 2012.

One that would probably lose within weeks, and is probably more on-topic than complaining about IJBM and OTC?

Another plot point: in this timeline, any horse that enters Equestria immediately becomes intelligent and able to speak (i.e. they become My Little Ponies).

These newly sentient horses probably would resent being pack animals, making logistics even worse.
