seriously, Spike is the strongest character in this show. Would you class him as an Iron Woobie?

Spike really has no notable trauma to speak of, so I wouldn't classify him as a Woobie of any sort. In fact, there's really no canon Woobies in the show, though fanon takes care of a lot of that.

Well, he's gonna be living with those instincts for a while (maybe his whole life) I can't imagine that's gonna be easy for him

Anyway, I have my own theories about dragon growth, namely being that the hoarding urge is roughly analogous to ...other hormone-driven puberty urges. The catch being that in this case, leaving the impulse unchecked accelerates the maturation process as a whole and stunts the dragons' emotional maturity; basically, their bodies mature to adulthood way quicker than their minds.

It actually ties into my theory for how Celestia got her hands on a dragon egg; the dragons, being solitary creatures, noticed the issues caused by the immaturity, and since friendship seems to be the best way of combating the hoarding urge they figured "the ponies seem to have this friendship thing down pretty well" and gave them some eggs to raise.

Another part of my theory is that the hoarding thing gets weaker with age; it's still present, but it isn't nearly as powerful as it is during puberty. So yeah, he'll always have to deal with it, but it won't always be as hard as it is for him now.

Also, I wouldn't call him the strongest cast member, although he's definitely one of the most durable.

Burned via teleportation, attacked by Angel, fallen in love with an outer species being, servant to a socially awkward bookworm, position threatened by an owl that can't even speak or have opposable thumbs, outran an Ursa Minor, got tackled by the village idiots, got hit on the head by a large rock, chased by a Hydra, chased by a dragon, announcing being outclassed by Pinkie Pie, forced to spend the majority of the Grand Galloping Gala alone, forced to regurgitate many letters in a painful manner, used as a pin cushion, used as a tracking dog, tricked into giving up his birthday present, uncontrollably stole the entire town's stuff....

Spike deserves props. Like a nice hat and a mustache.

I barely got off work, I Just wanna play Skyward Sword. Watching an anime would feel like I'm being forced to do something.

@JT I meant strongest willpower-wise.

I don't know, Fluttershy is pretty up there in willpower considering how Discord wasn't able to break her psychologically.

He wasn't able to break her easily, unlike the others who dropped to temptation like flies. he was using their own good intentions and personality traits against them, Flutters doesn't have the sorts of qualities that lend to that sort of thing easily, especially if he wanted cruelty.

I don't think we really have enough frame of reference for Spike's willpower, although he freaked out pretty easily when he thought Owlowiscious (no idea if I spelled that right) was taking his place. But that's still a bit different. He definitely does have willpower, but I'd say AJ outpaces him there.

And we didn't see Spike get corrupted at all (true discord wasn't TRYING to, but we can't rule out the possibility that he would've been hard to break)

Character rankings? I guess for me right now it would go something like:

• 1. Pinkie Pie and Twilight
• 2. Applejack
• 3. Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy
• 4. Rarity (I still like her, just not as much as the others.)

The ones that are two ponies for one ranking means I can't choose.

Derpy Hooves and Sweetie Belle would be somewhere under Pinkie and Twilight and above Rarity (meaning they're around ranking 2 or 3 but I'm not sure where to put them). I like Spike, too, but I'm not sure where I would rank him, either.

I liked the Katawa Shoujo ponies that were posted awhile back, too.
