I.. just hate the fact that this COULD'VE gone so much better. It wasn't INEVITABLE that Gilda would've exploded.

If the pranks weren't there, I honestly think the party would've been a LOT more effective

Not being able to take a prank despite pranking others =/= Bad person

I agree that Gilda is redeemable, but it isn't Rainbow or Pinkie's responsibility to get her there. Rainbow didn't realize it was necessary until the end, at which point she chose to stand by the friends that weren't jerks. Yes it would be nice to see RD reach out to Gilda, but I doubt Gilda was in a state of mind that she would have accepted it right then, she probably would have just hurled some insults and left.

No, but that's because Fluttershy isn't a prankster, in fact the specifically decided not to prank her earlier that episode. Gilda is a prankster, and they thought she would be able to appreciate that sort of thing.

Right, all that other shit makes her a bad person.

Honestly I think it wasn't really unreasonable for Gilda to get upset - regardless of who they were meant for anyone would get frustrated if every prank hit them. And considering she knew who set the party up, and she at least thought they were on poor terms, it's not an unreasonable jump to make.

If anything the issue is that Gilda just couldn't grasp the concept that somepony wouldn't take the chance to humiliate her. The thought that it hadn't been on purpose, and Pinkie had genuinely wanted to cheer her up just baffled her. Pinkie and Dash can't really be faulted for not seeing that, but neither can Gilda be faulted for thinking that way - it's just how she is. The real fault was a lack of understanding.

You are right Ginger, it doesn't necessarily indicate a bad person. However, Gilda was responsible for a number of rather spiteful acts that went beyond good natured pranking. Her inability to accept being pranked herself also indicates a lack of maturity.

Yes. but the goal of the party was to improve her attitude, and without the pranks, I think it would've worked.

What Could Have Been is why fic exists, Ginger. And who knows? There's still time to have Gilda back... I do wonder about this supposed three-parter at the end of the season.

^It probably would have, yeah. It was just an unfortunate mismatch of worldviews.

Come on mass return of one off characters to help the Mane Six.

I still want The one off antagonists to have a rescue moment as well. Imagine Gilda saving RD

More detailed "The Last Roundup" synopsis (apparently the real one this time): After attending a rodeo competition being held in Canterlot, Applejack mysteriously disappears without a trace, so it is up to the friends to travel all over Equestria, searching high and low for their missing pony companion.

I'd be a bit sad that this sounds like AJ won't be in the episode much, but she's got another one the week after, so whatever.

"The Last Roundup" is Applejack's personal version of that one quest in Skyrim where you get into a drinking contest. You know the one.
