Friendship is Magic tarot spread. If anyone here has even a passing interest in cartomancy, I highly recommend you give this spread a try.

It's hilarious, especially when you get cards with negative/strange representations on certain parts. I did readings for myself and two bronies on the weekend, here's the highlights:

  • One of my friends got purely feminine and maternal cards on kindness, loyalty and generosity. After that, it was all cards on selfishness, ending with THE DEVIL as his laughter, the reversed MAGICIAN as his magic and his cutie mark being the Three of Swords, reversed. We call his pony Heart Break, the Dark Magician Pony.

  • My other friend got a lot of royalty (kings, queens, pages, etc.), with his magic being a reversed Queen which symbolized going utterly insane. His cutie mark came out as the sexy King of Wands.

  • My spread had a base of cards with generosity, then it shifted to very bleak cards, with my laughter being the nihilistic Nine of Swords. My magic ended up being TEMPERANCE and my cutie mark the reversed MAGICIAN. I'm a very conflicted pony!

Give it a try!

Relevant to my interests on SO many levels. (If you've known me long enough, you should know I love a good dramatic Dysfunction Junction.) I'm kind of glad I didn't bother to read any of it until it was complete. Though I didn't know they were all connected at first. I thought they were just a bunch of one-shots.

Yeah, I think that's happened with Touhou, at least on these forums.

Me, I don't even mention the show unless someone asks. Which they don't, even when they happen to catch me browsing Ponibooru or sporting a wallpaper of Octavia. Then again, I'm rarely vocal about being a fan of anything unless I happen to be with another fan.

I'd have to agree on that. The applejack, I mean.

As for being vocal about the show, I am very much.

I wasn't saying that you shouldn't be vocal about it. I meant that, if possible, you should avoid forcing it on people who've already expressed their distaste for it.

And this is the part where my arguements become more and more convoluted in an attempt to defend my reasoning. Oh, how formulaic I am.

I can understand that argument if the person in question has seen the show and decided for themselves how they feel about it. However, there have been times when people hate the show because of the fans, and refuse to watch the show because of that.

And with those people, it's best to just leave them alone.

I think I'll shut up now.

This is what I (and I assume others) thought the show would be before we watched it. Generic plot and it isn't just due to the translation from German.

Applebloom: Applejack, where does glue come from?

Applejack: Little pony, sit right here. Ah think its 'bout time I told you where our parents went.

one would hope that they have different ways of making glue...like, out of tree sap or something.

Come to think of it, was glue always made from horses? Because I recall a discussion from earlier in this forum about the making of marshmallows, and someone mentioned that they were originally made from a kind of bush that grew in marshes.

Does anyone know how to draw the ponies? Some tutorials would be nice because I would like to make a birthday card with Pinkie Pie for my girlfriend(Who I think she might get a real kick out of it).

[up]Bah, forget all that. I've got the only tutorial you need right here.

[up][up][up]According to Wikipedia, there are plenty of plant based glues, as well as synthetic glues, so presumably they use those in Equestria.

I could use a bit of help with this thing I'm writing. From a scale of "meh" to "dear Celestia, make it stop!", how would this rough draft of a story section rate? I was aiming for something close to "I'm a little scared for Luna now", without actually going into full-on grimdark territory.

Worst case, I'll have to scrap the dream sequence, and wedge the waking up part somewhere else.

It was mildly creepy (granted this is coming from someone who reads Cosmic Horror stories all the time) until it got to the part where Nightmare started killing everyone in an eerily tranquil manner. Not quite grimdark in my opinion but getting there.

Your writing style definitely gets the point across though.
