Sessalisk and anyone else wondering about the NATG: The only real rules of the event are nothing sexually explicit (some sauciness seems to be acceptable) and no excessively violent content and it has to at least vaguely fit the theme (the original NATG had some very interesting and bizarre interpretations of the themes). And any quality is okay. The event is supposed to encourage people to draw ponies and they'll accept pretty much anything, including two minute doodles (the stuff I submitted to the first one definitely looked much worse than what you guys have shown here).

As for submitting, apparently the initial surge of submissions broke the script site that was supposed to handle it, so they're working on an alternate solution. Since then, it looks like they've asked people to hold off on submitting for the time being since it's killing Phoe's e-mail. :/ So I guess tuck those files into a safe place until they bring everything back online.

Man, pony artists are awesome! They are so nice when you give concrit!

Not bad, although your coloring in that last one is a mite too intense. It provokes major unneeded contrast IMO.

I guess I overdid the balancing on my zig-pen colors, lol.

Yea, there definitely needs to be either way less dark area or a more gradual transition between light and dark (although since those pens are out of my element, I have no idea how viable this second option actually is).

It's not easy to get the effect on 80gsm plain printing paper, mind. Maybe I should clone my art onto my heavier cartridge paper instead, it's more manageable to do colouring there. Or I could just reinstall the drivers for my Wacom Bamboo Pen and try to wrestle GIMP into behaving for me so's I can colour digitally. Also I need to practice the colouring trick more.

I done the Day 1 thingie (topic was pony in armor iirc): On Photobucket◊ and ponibooru. Now to start work on Day 2 lol (Topic is Pony in training, right?).

Ah, yea, using better paper will probably help a lot. You could always try both and see which aesthetic you like more.

I'm definitely getting field engineer vibes from Bri there (which I'd wager you intended, given her profession).
