If there's every a flashback to the pre-Nightmare Moon era (I doubt it, it's definitely superfluous at this point) I'd like to see them both acting like royalty - demanding proper respect and decorum, allowing magic to reflect their mood, etc like Luna's acts in her episode. On the same page, based on how she acts, I'd actually like to see that Luna is clearly the more outgoing and emotional of the two - and therefore why not having ponies around at night builds towards Nightmare Moon - and Celestia is the introverted and more rational one. But that's getting into very specific headcanon territory, so...

A lot of it is that Celestia almost borders on being too perfect, so far she hasn't really made any obvious mistakes or been unsuccessful in much of anything, the sole exception being when Discord swiped the elements. I'm not saying that she needs an enormous character flaw, but it would be nice to see that even she struggles with something. Preferably something that doesn't change the status quo much. Like maybe she just can't draw to save her life or something along those lines.

Luna is just more relatable; almost everyone knows how tough it can be to integrate yourself into a group of friends.

I think exploring the fact that Celestia NEEDS to be a reasonable authority figure would be the best way to go with her. As I said, I don't think it's fun having all that pressure on you. Sometimes you just wanna scream but she knows she can't.

I say the only reason we haven't seen her flaws is because she's been putting up a sorta front this entire time.

Which is why a vacation episode would be awesome. We'd finally get to see Celestia drop the facade and just enjoy herself, while getting an excuse for Luna to return.

but I think the fun would come from her frustration in not being able to drop the facade at will. Her character flaw is not being able to drop the PRETENSE of being perfect.

Seeing her alone with Luna would be fun, I don't think she puts up a front around her sister unless there are ponies watching

That would either be played for laughs for played for drama. Either way, it would be AWESOME! Not to mention a huge reality check for an entire population.

What about Celestia with amnesia. Celestia forgetting that she is even a princess. We could totally see the real Celestia that way.

I think that Celestia would shatter is something like that went public.

Imagine if Celestia was a lot like Twilight. Everything has to go according to plan otherwise she loses it. The only difference with Celestia is that her plans are so vast, and she prepares for every eventuality so well, that things almost NEVER not go according to plan

Include something where Twilight is trying to get Celestia to remember how to raise the sun which then leads to a catastrophe resulting in Celestia having a My God, What Have I Done? moment and subsequent Heroic BSOD.

What on earth could give Celestia amnesia? Has anyone in this show gotten amnesia before?

Just seeing something that could make Celestia fall the the ground would be hilarious. I imagine A REALLY heavy book falling on her head for some reason.

Then in the end it's revealed that Celestia gave HERSELF amnesia on purpose so that Twilight could see the real her.

If Celestia got amnesia she would have to revert to another form. Maybe something that looks abit like Filly!Luna?

Say, has anyone given thought of an Oregon Trail: Friendship is Magic Edition? The last episode just gave me a few ideas :P

The only things I remember from those games are dying of dysentery and shooting like fifteen tons of buffalo but only being able to carry like 200 pounds of it back to the wagon. Neither of those are suitable for this show.
