Could very well be an episode, though. They have to get Twilight to tutor them or something to get their grades up, or they're caught cheating and Applejack flips her lid, stuff like that.

I was about to answer and then I realized consider their personalities and what we've seen of them I can't imagine any of them being ace students in school, they seem like they'd be mostly average or those sorts of kids that are book dumb but have a lot of practical experience and knowledge.

She can be a little slow on the uptake, but I can definitely see her growing out of that as she gets older. None of them are particularly book smart, when it comes down to that, but they're not idiots. They're just kids.
