Ponies don't actually take the time to find out what other ponies want. They just get them a present associated with themselves.

So. . .umm. . .is this really going to be an Applejack episode? Are we really going to see our favorite farm pony in action?

I'm hoping for AJ to pull a Big Damn Heroes near the end

What we need is a solo AJ and Pinkie episode wherein they both do awesome feats beyond imagination. I'm talking Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Lord of the Rings awesome.

Problem is, because Pinkie is both more popular and considered more funny, everybrony will be focusing on her moments rather than AJ's

I'm a little bit biased towards her. But AJ deserves some epic awesomeness.

I guess all we can do is hope for the best.

Also, Ginger, your opinions aren't as rare as you think. For instance, I also consider The Mysterious Mare Do Well an underrated episode, even if it doesn't meausure up to the awesomeness of many other season 2 episodes.

It'd just feel nice if I was in the majority a little more often.

Maybe if everyone could calm down? The synopses we've been getting this early aren't as accurate as we thought. Remember how Twilight lost something very important she was going to send Celestia? And how Sweetie Belle invented the Sisterhooves Social?

Even if Applejack is missing for the majority of the episode, something tells me that the other girls (and the rest of Ponyville) will soon realize just how much AJ does for them and the town, and how much of that stuff is no longer getting done now that she's missing. (Of course, public utility isn't the reason the girls will be looking for her, but.)

@Red Savant: Agreed. This is hardly the first time that the synopsis hasn't really summarized the episode that well, and there have been a couple of episodes that turned out awesome despite the summaries not sounding that great.

Nobody has to freak out about the episode until we find out what its actually about.

My best guess is that it starts with the other ponies downplaying AJ's importance, only for her to leave and cause everything to fall apart. I'd actually be pretty surprised if she doesn't come out ahead.

sigh, I was just so excited that we might actually get to see AJ DO something.

If anything, this episode will probably cement her as the Boring, but Practical pony of the group (just like you theorized JT)

and that would cripple her chances of ever becoming popular.

Sorry, I'm just feeling a bit down.

I just find the idea of Applejack being kidnapped to be laughable, if only because I'd be pitying the kidnappers within three seconds of the event.
