Don't know how much you know of
Avatar: The Last Airbender, but bending is a set of four mystical martial arts that involve "bending", or controlling, the four elements. Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Metalbending, therefore, would be the manipulation of metal. Crunching it into a ball, twisting it into a suit of armor, etc. However, it's considered, pretty much universally, to be impossible to bend Earth that's been changed like that.
have to wonder what the deal with writing letters to Princess Clestia is at the end of each episode it's not like TP is telling the Princess stuff she doesn’t already know. Being...you know...a Goddess and all.
First of all, the whole friendship reporting thing is basiecally a pretense to allow Twilight to stay with her friends in Ponyville.
Secondly, it's an assignment from her teacher. How many times have your teachers told you to write a research paper on something they already know? Probably a lot.
Thirdly, that stuff is actually quite powerful and important in Equestria. After all, look at what it did to the Nightmare Moon threat.
