Pony behavior in show is mix of human and horse behavior.

yeah I have been analyzing this show for a review I am making, and wow it's amazing how emotions are handled.

For instance just pause any scene and you can clearly see each pony emotions. They hardly ever( if ever) just stand there with a neutral face ( even real life actors do that!). For intense even if Pinkie pie or rainbow dash don't speak in a scene. You can see their emotions in any given situation anyways.Almostvany scene is a Freeze Frame Bonus Just to see their cute little emotions :)

Hehe, the second time I watched the season through, I was pausing every 30 seconds or so to take a screen cap. It's how I built up that huge collection of Twilight expressions that I used for my wallpaper. I was mostly watching out for good Twilight expressions for avatars, but there's so many good ones in general that I have a pretty good collection for the rest of the main six as well. In fact, I think I'm going to have to create subfolders for each pony in my pony folder. >.>

And now you have me wanting to try and get it, even though I probably don't have the equipment necessary anymore (I used to capture SD material with my camcorder from an older VCR, but the one it's been replaced with might not have the same hookups).

New chapter of my stupid story is posted on Equestria Power/Daily. No new comments (well, it says there's one new comment, but it appears to have been deleted), but a number of new ratings which brings it down from slightly above four stars to four stars.

I guess I'll just have to continue out of spite.

Guess it's just as well nobody read it, because after sending it it I kinda panicked about a few things, like one of my characters still having a very shallow personality and the realization that I have no idea how treating a concussion works.

... and somewhere, a Something Awful goon or an E Diot is laughing at me.

I still don't get what people seem to have against OC ponies - especially since I've written a fic with two ponies who got so little screen time they may as well have been OC's. Every time an OC pic comes up on ponibooru the comments are full of whining...though I'm starting to realize that ponibooru may not be the best representation of brony culture.

I was under the impression it wasn't just a pony thing, but rather just an OC thing. People like the familiar and that's what all the canon and the main cast are. I think it makes sense that people may get suspicious or turned off by O Cs. I usually try to give everything its own fair shake, but this fandom moves so fast it's impossible to keep up with just a fraction of a fraction of it, especially since, as much as I like MLP Fi M, it doesn't occupy 100% of my free time (more like just a 'meager' 80% ).

I think that original characters in any fandom get a bad rap for being self-inserts, Mary Sues, or whatnot. I don't know if the stigma's any bigger or smaller in the pony fandom.

I think some people have already pointed out how Rainbow Dash is almost a carbon copy of Butercup from The Powerpuff Girls. Their voices are nearly identical, they have the same personality, etc. Well, there's also a carbon copy of Fluttershy out there. Any Gundam SEED fans know that Lacus Clyne is a sweet, overly polite character. As to her love of animals, well, take a look at this video at about three minutes in. (Youtube has literally nothing but music videos on the subject.) Granted Lacus isn't quite as shy but she sounds nearly the same and both characters actually burst into song several times. Heck, they even have the same hair.
