Ponychan has always been a cesspit. Eq Daily is usually better than that; I'm surprised and a little ashamed, especially given that it's our public face on the 'net.

And no, I don't think we've ever seen a flag before this episode.

The Windigos were cool. The comedy was pretty good (yes, even a lot of Pinkie's, mainly because of how her and AJ played off of each other), the mythology was interesting, and the part where they started freezing actually REALLY unsetled me.

I'd say it was a good episode. Not the best. But Death-threat worthy? Fuck off Fan Dumb!

I'm curious, does this episode mean that the land where Equestrian ponies came from is still covered in snow, or did that land thaw out when all the ponies left and/or stopped fighting? If this story is true, presumably I would think it still exists.

I mean I know this fandom has a tendency for at least one fan to call Ruined Forever per episode, but seriously? The episode wasn't as strong as I was expecting, but that's just idiotic.

Because the Windigos had all the power they needed by that point. Plus the three remaining probably had a fair bit of resentment for their leaders, like Pansy noted.

They feed off hatred, right? Maybe they're on a roll and that's why only that Deus ex Machina magic is able to drive them off.

I am continually baffled that everyone loves Luna's episode but continues to cry Ruined Forever with each new episode.

Phew ^^. Just got caught up with the thread again. (and calmed down from my euphoria)

Still my favorite episode ever. Without question. This was, so to say, the "Silmarillion" to the "Lord of the Rings" of the regular show, and since backstory/worldbuilding are the best things ever for me, my choice was clear.

I am not in the slightest bit angry about any kind of fanon/canon problems or whatever. We now have a great canon backstory with a lot of unique characters (seriously, I love the leaders and their sidekicks!

).

Awesome episode. Very funny gags, really good designs on the new costumes and the extras of the play, and the voice actresses were fantastic.

@Fell I swear that's where a lot of the hatred is coming from. People were expecting Silmarillion levels of worldbuilding and detail from ML FUCKING P!!

We DID get that, but I think too many people were getting their hopes up too high. They expected Silmarilion levels of detail and that's just not feesible

Griffons, dragons, hydra, Zebras... take your pick! They could have been a conquest-oriented military army, or just a defensive force.

So people were expecting it to be ludicrously dry and written with all the enthusiasm of Ben Stein? I much prefer what we got, thank you.

@Ginger: Hmmm, hopes shmopes. I mean, a week ago I was really hoping for Discord to be in this one, but c'mon, can't have everything. The lack of Celestia and Luna (not in the backstory, in the real world) is.. hmm, a bit sad. In my headcanon, they provided all the amazing special effects for the play, as well as the crazy, logic-defying stage itself.
