I disagree. What would truly be bad is if we never get to see the play (and whatever backstory it may contain) and it ends with Pinkie putting on a performance her version of "how equestria was made".

Ah, but that's not annoying to me on a personal level. Pinkie and AJ being onstage, and Pinkie UPSTAGING her while they're both performing would be a FAR bigger insult to me. It would basically be the writers collectively going "FUCK YOU!!" to all of AJ's fans
