I've got a question about cutie marks. Does anyone know if they were referred to as such and had any significance in the earlier generations, or were they just an unexplained part of the character designs? I feel like this has come up before, but I don't remember the answer.

Why was there a charity auction in ''Equistria'' of all places? What were they supposed to do with the money? Make the place even more perfect?

Calvin: I kind of resent the manufacturer's implicit assumption that this would amuse me.

Equestria is NOT perfect. It may appear to be, but it's got manticores, cockatrices, hydras, parasprites, and numerous other monstrosities roaming about. I'd be terrified to live next to the everfree forest.

I wonder if there are any endangered species in Equestria?

I doubt it unless the animal was already rare to begin with.

I don't think they served any purpose other than to have some way to differentiate the characters other than mane and coat colors.

Number 2 you posted was the last one I watched. Wikipedia says that the next one is a spike centered episode.

A bit late, but I get the feeling Dash's house can move around Ponyville pretty easily. It is a cloud, after all.

Cloudsdale, however, is definitely fixed. And I think I know where it is, too - granted, none of the girls lived in Ponyville during the first Rainboom, but you can see Canterlot Keep pretty clearly in Twilight's flashback (through the window) looking pretty similar to how it usually does, and the Rainboom originates on the far side of it.
