I guess she doesn't care enough about being from Canterlot to note it.

Twilight is best pony. We had a vote and everything.
Even if she is originally from Canterlot, she obviously didn't involve herself with the culture in any meaningful way. It wasn't until she went to Ponyville that she actually got enough social interaction to absorb the culture of an area. So all things considered she really is more of a Ponyville pony than a Canterlot pony.

I doubt she would have fit in very well, anyway (being socially awkward and probably more genuine and less keeping-up-appearances than Canterlot ponies.).

Well, since the culture seems to mainly consist of stuck up assholes, it isn't very strange at all.

Canterlot can't all be noble ponies, right? I mean, we've got Turnip Truck and Pony Joe. We need to get a Canterlot episode with one of the other cast members who is more likely to hang out with average Canterlot ponies.

Maybe we could get an episode where Twilight visits her classmates. I can't imagine that her private lessons with Celestia completely supplanted going to any sort of regular classes.

Like she feels bad about blowing them off all the time, so she decides to make it up by inviting them to one of Pinkie's parties or something? I wonder how glad they'd be to see her. In the pilot she'd presumably been ignoring them for years, but they still seemed pretty eager to invite her to Moondancer's party. Very friendly, or just trying to get in good with Celestia?

maybe Moondancer has a crush on Twilight It could be they were just friends who ended up growing apart. Twilight probably became more and more dedicated to her studies as they became more advanced, so she might have just lost time for old friends.

Oh yeah, the Applejack I picked up yesterday came with The Ticket Master on Mini-DVD.

Yeah, there were some sorta-commerical sequences and a menu with just "play" on it.

and I need to find myself a picture to send in with it. It's an Alternate Universe fic where Celestia is Empress, Luna came back as herself instead of Nightmare Moon, and nobody knows about the Elements of Harmony. Any suggestions?

Oh... I also heard of a DVD containing both "The Ticket Master" and "Suited For Success", but it costs a lot more for having that one extra episode!
