Wow, just caught up with the thread again.

Anyway, the thing that struck me most about the episode was the plot. Just when I thought that they kept using cliche predictable plots, they do a complete subversion of Fawlty Towers Plot.

Pokey had a three-second cameo in "Call of the Cutie, " where he popped balloons with his horn. His cutie mark was a safety pin in that ep.

About names, it's not like parents in real life haven't been naming their kids the weirdest things. The one thing that stumps me is whether family names actually exist or not. It might not, and so explains why some ponies have two names and some don't. It might, and so first name in pony world comes in many words.

On second thought, they can also be like the Javanese and have one name except when there is something heritable at stake.

About five years ago, I read about a baby with the unfortunate name of Urhines (pronounced "Your Highness") Kendall Icey Eight Special K.

I've heard of names such as La-a (Ladashia) and Lemonjelo and Oranjelo (Leh-mon-jelo and Ohr-ahn-jelo)

For the record, Fleur does reappear in the song, still beside Fancypants. I think she really is supposed to be his wife or something. I really hope so. I really don't know why, but for some reason it really does bother me to think of him being a 'pimp' of any degree.

I got the impression that the Mane 6 were a bitt OOC during the party. I don't think we've ever seen them quite that wild.

It was a party, anypony can act a bit odd once they get hyped up on sugar and start just having fun.

If they had gone right to the Garden party, yeah, but they'd been going nuts at there own party for ahile first

Yeah, personality-wise I'm usually a mix of Twilight and Fluttershy, but when I'm partying with my friends I can get pretty crazy. Like, singing drunken karaoke despite not being drunk crazy. Twilight starting to dance isn't all that weird.

On the question of "what's your favorite scene, " probably the part where Rainbow Dash was throwing cake, as I mentioned, as well as Applejack's taking the idea of a "garden party" literally. Rarity's gushing thank you's to Celestia were amusing, too (partially because it reminded me of a character in my Harry Potter fanfics).

I'm way late to the party, but I'm pretty sure, given the way Rarity slugs that punch back after Twilight's dance, that she spiked it. Or that it was alcoholic to begin with.

Hey guys, I don't know how much I love the canon Discord anymore. Now I'm in love with Dr. Disco Q Furter◊.

Just wanted to pop back in and say that the episode started off slow, but once Twilight's party got started it was a nonstop cavalcade of fun. The mane six's party was infectiously cute, and I could watch Twilight getting tossed up in the air for hours (that happy grin of hers just sells it for me).

And kudos to the writing staff for avoiding a cliche'd Friend or Idol Decision plot. I was especially impressed with Twilight twice letting Rarity off the hook graciously (for the dress and for wanting to hobnob with the upper crust), that's a level of selflessness you seldom see in modern movie/TV scripts.
