Ooh! I can add that to another idea I had about an earth pony foal who gets depressed because all his friends are pegasi and unicorns, and he doesn't feel 'special' at all.
Do you think that's ever going to come up in the show?
There was an episode of the '80's cartoon like that called "Sweet Stuff and the Treasure Hunt". See what you think of it!
I have never seen the "My Little Pony Tales" series and don't know much about it outside what I've read on this wiki, so someone who has seen that series might be able to give a better opinion on how those ponies would interact with the ones from Friendship is Magic.
Well, there are some similarities between the gangs from each show if you look for them. For example, I like to think of G4 Rainbow Dash as being like MLPT's Patch if she also had Melody's inflated ego. (And just as Rainbow Dash has the Wonderbolts, Melody is sometimes seen fangirling over her favorite rock band.) Sweetheart could be considered the Fluttershy, as she's the one who (hilariously) talks in a lovey-dovey voice no matter the situation, and there was even an episode where she tried to take care of a wild animal. For friends of Twilight Sparkle, there's Bright Eyes as the bookish one, and Starlight as the capable leader. I think Bon-Bon is a lot like the new Spike: They like all kinds of food, they journalize everything, and they're often pretty clueless and cowardly, which tends to make them the most easily relatable characters early on. Clover's just weird, like she's almost always depressed over some imagined misfortune. I dunno, maybe she could commiserate with Apple Bloom over their fears that they'll never amount to anything. Hey, and the three boy friends even serve a similar role to the Cutie Mark Crusaders, as they get up to crazy schemes now and then to try to prove themselves to the girls, with the occasional infighting between them.
