They'd have choice over what they sting, right? Because otherwise all Jelly could hug would be her jellyfish and other Octoquines. And that's terrible.
I'd bet a lot of coral care would just be maintenance of existing reefs which shouldn't be as labour intensive.

Yeah, they should have control over it...if they are poisonous.
Also, I like to think of all three types as killer rabbits when underwater.
Octoquines are possibly poisonous, can spray ink, or just grap you with their tenacles and spin you out, or choke you silly.
Hippocampi are very powerful swimmers...and some can use that thunder punch.
Narwhals have magic...'nuff said.

What do you mean?
A lot of Octopi can change the pigment of their skin. Colour changing could be an option for Octoquines but that would A: Make it hard to tell them apart since consistent colouring is optional and B: Maybe too many abilities.
