Overall, I thought the episode was just so-so. I'm really beginning to dislike Rainbow Dash as of this episode. Also, no Tank. Boo.

I called Twilight as the one repairing the dam by the color of the magic. When she later said that pulling off such a feat must have required studying, that clinched it. Way to pat yourself on the back there, Twilight.

I suspect that Tara Strong was also the voice of Sparkler here.

As for all the people on Ponychan and Equestria Daily who are saying this show is Ruined Forever: Overreact much? You just know these drama queens will all be glued to their screens next week, same as the rest of us.

One of Scoot's defining features is her obsession with RD. In this episode, Scoot abandons RD for the Mare-Do-Well, and it wasn't even really played for laughs.

It is one of her defining characteristics, which means it will probably be back later on. The whole scene was mainly designed to show how mopey RD is and to show how far she has fallen, but still I wouldn't take it to seriously.

Vitriol is such a harsh word, considering most of my comments about a character's suffering tend to be in jest and I don't hate her. You have not seen me absolutely despise a character. This is lighthearted ribbing.

Mind you I did want to punch a hole through the screen from all her boasting. Just because something is consistent with a character doesn't mean I have to like i t and if anything it just becomes a strike against the character as a character.

I tend to see a lot of comments here that mention a character is acting like a jerk but it's in a way that's in character (i.e. RD in the previous episode.) like it's some sort of defense for the actions. It only means the character is a jerk, not that it was a moment of poor writing or good writing.

Her humility and pain was delicious and I'm glad it happened. I swear, I could feel myself trying not to tear out my eardrums and punch a hole through my screen from all her talk and sucky attempts at heroics.

I don't buy that for a second.

It is kind of weird how people use the "in character" statement as a kind of defense of her jerkish behavior. Well she may be one of my least favorites but I never really had a strong dislike for RD.
