Yeah, I was on Twilight's side the entire episode. Her attempted analysis of Pinkie wasn't hurting anyone (except herself) and in general, scientists DO try to explain things. What was the problem?

I think the point is that Twilight's attitude was not "I'm going to do research to see if the Pinkie Sense is real", but rather "the Pinkie Sense cannot possibly be real, and I'm going to prove it". She already knew what she wanted the results to be before she started investigating.

Well Twilight did have a problem with not following proper scientific conduct. She let herself get too involved in the outcome, which led her to be biased. Instead of finding the truth, she was more interested in proving herself right.

Yeah, I think I can see what you mean about Twilight. I still thought what happened to her was an insane case of Disproportionate Retribution though, because she really wasn't hurting anyone (least of all Pinkie)
