Well, the sight of someplace reminiscent of Trottingham would certainly attract Peeler to The Tea Cozy in the first place.

I imagine Tealove would respect his love of justice, and might actually catch a glimpse of what Peeler's like in casual mode (maybe Pip could appear and draw out Peeler's fartherly side for a brief spell?) She loves the way he cares for Pip

What I thought was;

he's keen to see his son do sports (character building), but would obsess over things like stranger danger, road safety and staying the fuck out of Everfree.

A little overprotective? Yes, because Pip is all he's got until Tealove arrives on the scene.

I still like my idea that Peeler REALLY didn't like the fact that Luna is Pip's favourite princess

(at least not initially)

He'd probably be a really warm father, and try to spend as much time as he could with Pip.

That may be a quality that Tealove likes about him: he has an enormous heart. He took up policing because he cared about the safety of other ponies, his son is the most precious thing in the world for him, and he has passion for everything he does. The stallion's got heart.

Is there anything particularly WRONG with the bible belt of America?

There's a stereotype that people in the belt are ardent bible-thumpers (hence the name) who are stuck in centuries-old Puritan attitudes.

I live there though, and its really not that bad. Most of it, anyhow.
