Apparently somepony has already started working on a MLP game.
There's room for two in this universe!
Speaking of which guys, I decided to set down a few ideas and here's the Plot Bunny that I dug up for a hypothetical MLP J-RPG. Here, for your perusal:
It starts out, Celestia is sick with a seemingly incurable illness, and without her to run things (I'm still trying to capture a plot bunny for Luna) the weather is going haywire. Celestia manages to get out a message to Twilight, saying that the situation is even worse than she knows and there is only one way to fix everything: she and her friends have to find a being known as "The Mother Pony, " but this pony lives "beyond the borders of Equestria."
Zecora also tells Twilight that there's this weird rock in the Everfree forest that she always sees lights and hears strange sounds coming from. When the mane cast walk around this rock they wind up in the human world, which is also being affected by weather anomalies and strange goings-on. They bring the Elements of Harmony with them, but one of the Elements gets stolen and the ponies discover that if they're not wearing an Element while in humanspace, they become human (Spike doesn't change, for whatever reason).
...I've kind of got writer's block beyond this point, but a few more niggling little kittens:
They meet characters from the G1 series, but the G1 characters are all thirty years older than in the old series. Also, the Equestria ponies are considered gods by the Ponyland ponies.
I kind of want Nightmare Moon to return in some capacity, but I don't want Luna to be evil (actually I'd like to see Luna as a sort of advisor character). I'm trying to think of ways Nightmare Moon could be a totally different person from Luna.
It eventually turns out that "the Mother Pony" is
the Horsehead Nebula
and also the final boss, but there's a trick to it:
to get the best ending, you have to let it win. I'm ironing out the explanation for this right now, but its related to the fact that you have "will to fight" instead of "hit points."
So, critiquify please?
